Team Spirit and Leadership Shined in Heathrow
In mid-July, HallMark Veterinary and Compliance Services took another meaningful step in developing leadership across the organisation, as colleagues from the E1 and WW3 teams came together for a two-day Essential Management Skills workshop. The event was delivered by Management Training & Leadership specialists and held at the Hilton Garden Inn at Heathrow on the 15th and 16th of July.
The participants included Senior Veterinary Managers, Area Veterinary Managers, Senior Meat Hygiene Inspectors and Imports Team Leader. Over two days, they explored practical and engaging topics focused on enhancing day-to-day leadership and communication. These included effective communication techniques, managing performance, self-management strategies, quality feedback, delegation, handling difficult conversations and conflict, and building successful teams by strengthening team skills.
The training gave the group an opportunity to reflect, share experiences, and build on existing strengths. The focus on collaboration, awareness, and accountability provided valuable insights that have already begun to improve working relationships and team dynamics.
Outside the workshop sessions, there were some well-deserved moments of fun. A group of colleagues decided to take the tube from Heathrow to Piccadilly Circus for some sightseeing. Surrounded by the energy of the city, they captured team photos by the statue of Eros and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The evening ended with a dinner in Leicester Square, where team members from different cultural backgrounds — Romanian, Polish, Turkish, and English — all agreed on Italian cuisine, rounding off the day with great food and great company.
This event was more than just a training session. It was a shared experience that brought colleagues closer together, helping to build trust, confidence, and positive momentum.
A heartfelt thank you goes to HallMark for investing in its people, and to our manager Luis for making all of this possible while ensuring operations continued smoothly in our absence.
Our managers returned with renewed energy, new tools, and stronger connections. We look forward to putting everything we learned into practice as we continue to support one another and grow together.
