Inspiring the Next Generation at Harper & Keele Veterinary School
On Wednesday 21st January 2026, HallMark attended the Interprofessional Veterinary Careers Day at Harper & Keele Veterinary School, an event aimed at giving veterinary students a clearer picture of the many career routes available within the profession.
HallMark was represented by:
Eduard Mosulica, Export Official Veterinarian
Karolina Malczewska-Kalinowska, Area Veterinary Manager
Charlotte Lazell, Novice Official Veterinarian
The team spent the day speaking with students about working in public health and Official Veterinary roles, sharing practical insights and real-world experience from their own careers.
Opening Up Career Pathways Beyond Practice
A key part of the day was helping students understand that a veterinary degree can lead to far more than traditional clinical practice. Conversations focused on:
Career pathways within Official Veterinary services
Graduate opportunities at HallMark
The importance of public health and the role vets play in protecting animal health, food safety and public confidence
Students were encouraged to ask questions, explore different options and think about where their interests and strengths might take them.
CV Competition and Career Conversations
To support employability and encourage engagement, HallMark ran a CV competition on the day.
Students who signed up to the HallMark careers pipeline were entered into a prize draw to win a HallMark Hamper, filled with a selection of goodies.
The competition helped spark useful conversations around career planning and future opportunities, while also giving students a practical reason to stay connected with HallMark.
What We Took Away
The event was a valuable opportunity to:
Meet and engage with future veterinary professionals
Share clear and realistic career pathways within public health
Explain what HallMark can offer graduates
Highlight why public health veterinary work is such an important part of the wider profession
Careers events like this play an important role in helping students make informed choices and see the full range of opportunities available to them.
HallMark would like to thank Harper & Keele Veterinary School for hosting the event. We look forward to continuing to support veterinary students as they explore their future careers.
