Developing Leadership Across HallMark
At HallMark Veterinary & Compliance Services, we believe that investing in our managers is an important part of building a strong and resilient business.
Last week, managers from across the company took part in a two-and-a-half-day High Impact Leadership programme at our Gloucestershire Head Office. Delivered by MTD Sales Training, the workshop forms part of our ongoing commitment to developing leadership capability across the organisation.
Many of our Operational Managers within Official Controls joined HallMark following the TUPE transfer just over a year ago and have since taken on leadership roles supporting our Food Standards Agency contracts. As our business continues to develop, providing managers with the skills and confidence to lead their teams effectively remains a key priority.
The programme covered a range of practical leadership topics, including emotional intelligence, communication, coaching, delegation, leading change, resilience, psychological safety and managing difficult conversations. The emphasis was on practical approaches that managers can apply in their day-to-day roles, helping them to support their teams and deliver consistently high standards.
The opportunity to bring together managers from different parts of the business was also a valuable aspect of the programme. Sharing experiences, discussing common challenges and learning from one another helps build stronger working relationships across the organisation.
On the Wednesday evening, managers and directors met for dinner at De Vere Tortworth Court. Beforehand, many gathered to watch England's 2–1 FIFA World Cup victory over DR Congo, providing an opportunity to relax together after the day's training.
Developing effective leaders is an ongoing process, and this programme is one of a number of initiatives designed to support our managers as the business continues to grow. By investing in leadership, we are helping to ensure we continue to provide high-quality services to our customers while creating opportunities for our people to develop their careers.
