Expert Veterinarians Lead HallMark's Successful Visits to Portsmouth and Newhaven Border Control Posts Ahead of New EU Import Checks

HallMark’s Veterinary Experts Confirm Readiness for New EU Import Checks at UK Border Control Posts

Introduction

Amidst a climate of uncertainty and misinformation regarding the UK's post-Brexit border checks, HallMark's team of expert veterinarians has visited Portsmouth and Newhaven Port Health Authorities in readiness for the new regulations taking effect from 30th April.

A Showcase of Expertise and Dedication

HallMark Veterinary & Compliance Services commitment to ensuring seamless transitions in a post-Brexit trade landscape was demonstrated through an insightful visit conducted by three of our leading experts: Luis Castromil, Head of Imports; Radoslav Stankov, Imports Technical Lead; and Diego Sprekelsen, Operations Director. They closely examined the state-of-the-art facilities at Portsmouth International Port and Newhaven Port Health Authorities, both poised to handle EU imports with new health and safety checks.

Clarifying the Narrative

Despite some reports suggesting delays in the implementation of health and safety checks on EU imports, HallMark’s evaluations, corroborated by statements from Defra, confirm that the checks will commence as scheduled. Read more from Defra.

An open day at Newhaven provided a platform for our veterinarians to offer tours and host Q&A sessions, enhancing stakeholder understanding and confidence.

Conclusion

With the deadline imminent, HallMark’s team is in constant dialogue with border authorities, fully prepared to navigate the complexities of these regulatory changes. We are grateful for the cooperation from the teams at Portsmouth and Newhaven, and proud to play a pivotal role in upholding the UK’s border control standards.
