Excellence Maintained at Year End – December 2025
December is often a month of tight deadlines, shifting priorities and added pressure. Across the Vorenta Group, however, standards did not slip. Teams continued to deliver with care, discipline and a clear sense of responsibility. This month’s Employee of the Month awards recognise colleagues whose contribution went beyond what was required, strengthening our work at a particularly demanding time.
Our Employee of the Month programme highlights individuals who consistently reflect our core values of quality, integrity, collaboration and openness. December’s winners demonstrated these values through initiative, professionalism and sound judgement.
Official Controls Winner – Orҫun Durak
Novice Official Veterinarian – HMOC
Orҫun is recognised for his highly collaborative approach and his willingness to engage with complex challenges head-on. Throughout December he continued to support colleagues while also identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes beyond his immediate role. His work on developing software tools to support certification procedures, including streamlining barcode scanning and improving picking list accuracy, has delivered clear efficiency and quality gains.
Alongside this, Orҫun played an active role during the recent BSE status change, navigating recertification requirements and evolving guidance with care and attention to detail. His approach reflects a strong commitment to continuous improvement, safety and organisational excellence, and marks him out as a colleague who adds value well beyond his remit.
Imports Winner – Ergi Soyel
Portal Official Veterinarian – Imports
Ergi is recognised as a dependable and highly professional member of the Imports team, known for his calm manner and support for others’ development. In December he managed a particularly complex illegal import case involving multiple authorities and significant external pressure.
Despite attempts by the importer to influence the process through political channels, Ergi followed the correct procedures throughout, making all required referrals and maintaining clear, accurate communication. His measured handling of the situation ensured that decision-making remained with the UK CVO, exactly as intended under the system. Both the Port Authority and the Imports Management Team had full confidence in his judgement and professionalism, which proved well placed.
A Strong Finish to the Year
Orҫun and Ergi exemplify the standards we expect across the Vorenta Group. Their work in December shows how technical competence, integrity and teamwork come together in practice, particularly when circumstances are challenging. Their contributions have strengthened our services and reinforced trust with partners, authorities and colleagues alike.
We thank them for their commitment and are pleased to recognise their achievements as we close out the year.
