Line Management: Head of Human Resources. Job Purpose:
We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preventing harm and fostering a positive health and safety culture within the workplace. You will ensure compliance with safety legislation, promote safety policies, and implement effective safety measures
Key Strengths:
Strong analytical and problem-solving
Experience and knowledge of working in the food sector is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff at all levels
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and producing accurate reports or documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend strategies for risk
Develop and outline safe operational procedures considering all relevant
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to health and safety policies and
Prepare comprehensive health and safety strategies, internal policies, and management reports that suggest improvements.
Lead in-house training sessions for managers and employees on health and safety issues and
Maintain records of inspection findings, incident reports, and accident statistics for management
Stay updated on new legislation and maintain extensive knowledge of Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements and developments relevant to our industry.
Participate in training courses and webinars offered by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and engage with professional journals.
Ensure all equipment is installed safely and that hazardous materials are disposed of
Provide expert advice on various safety issues, including fire regulations, noise, and occupational
Education:
A degree in occupational health and safety, risk management, environmental health, or a related field is highly desirable.
Recognised qualifications such as IOSH-accredited certifications, NEBOSH, or City &
Previous experience in a health and safety role, or as part of a related field, is an

Effective time management and adaptability
Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
Working Hours:
Typical working hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of irregular hours for
Opportunities for hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days in the office or site
The position will require time spent on-site at various locations, including Abattiors, Boarder Control sites, and food storage units.
Base Location:
This role is based within Vorenta Head Office in Berkeley, Gloucestershire
