Resource Coordinator
About us
At Vorenta, we work at the heart of the UK Agrifood sector through HallMark Veterinary and Compliance Services and MLC. Our work supports food safety, animal health and public trust, partnering with organisations such as Defra, APHA and the FSA. What we do matters, and so does the way we do it.
This opportunity sits within our HallMark Official Controls division, which delivers vital services under the FSA contract. Behind that delivery is a small, dedicated coordination team responsible for ensuring the right people are deployed in the right place at the right time.
We are now looking for a Resource Coordinator to join our team, supporting operational delivery across our Exports, Imports and Official Controls activities.
You will join a close-knit team where Collaboration, Openness, Integrity and Quality are not just statements. They guide how we work, how we support one another and the standards we maintain every day.
The role
The Resource Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting operational delivery by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained across multiple operational areas.
Working as part of a small team and reporting to the operations manager, you will be responsible for coordinating rotas, arranging cover for sickness and annual leave, contacting standby personnel and helping to ensure continuity of service across the division.
This role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to respond quickly and effectively when operational requirements change.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and maintaining rotas across key operational areas
Coordinating staffing requirements across Exports, Imports and Official Controls activities
Responding to sickness, annual leave and short-notice operational changes
Contacting standby personnel and identifying available resources when additional cover is required
Liaising with colleagues across multiple locations to support staffing requirements
Maintaining accurate holiday, staffing and rota records
Communicating effectively with managers and operational teams
Supporting continuity of service across the division
Working Pattern
This role does not always follow a standard 9:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. schedule.
Working hours will vary according to operational requirements, and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate flexibility to support business needs, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends and out-of-hours activities where required.
The role operates on a flexible hybrid basis, with no fixed office attendance pattern. During the initial training period, the successful candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley Head Office for approximately one month. Following successful completion of training and demonstration of competence, hybrid working arrangements can commence.
The role includes participation in an on-call rota of approximately one weekend in every four weeks.
Workload will fluctuate depending on operational demand. You will need to prioritise effectively, remain calm under pressure and maintain a high level of accuracy at all times.
You may already be working in scheduling, coordination, workforce planning or resource management within a fast-paced environment. Alternatively, you may come from an operational administrative background where organisation, communication and responsiveness are essential.
You will bring:
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
The ability to manage competing priorities without losing accuracy
Confidence in responding to change and making sound decisions
Clear and professional communication skills
Resilience and the ability to remain calm when workloads increase
Strong IT capability and confidence using administrative systems
A proactive mindset and the confidence to take ownership
A flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements
Experience coordinating rotas, workforce planning or managing operational staffing would be advantageous, but is not essential.
What matters most is your reliability, responsiveness and ability to keep operations running smoothly.
What we offer
Starting salary of £27,000 per annum
Salary progression to £29,000 upon successful completion of training and competency sign-off
Flexible hybrid working
Pension scheme after three months
Simply Health plan and access to Perkbox following successful probation
Free onsite parking
A supportive and collaborative team environment
We are based in Berkeley in the Gloucestershire countryside, with local amenities within easy reach of the office.
