HallMark Calls for Veterinarian and Certifying Officer Feedback on GEFS

APHA Briefing Note 07/2024: A Call to Action for Improving Groupage Export Facilitation Scheme (GEFS)

Date Issued: 27 February 2024

In a concerted effort to refine and enhance the Groupage Export Facilitation Scheme (GEFS), the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is seeking valuable feedback from veterinarians and certifying officers. This initiative aims to gather insights that will drive significant improvements to the GEFS, a scheme pivotal in simplifying the export process to the EU for specific product categories.

Background

The GEFS plays a critical role in facilitating trade by easing the process for exporters to obtain the necessary attestations for Export Health Certificates. Following constructive feedback from last year's survey, APHA is dedicated to further understanding the experiences of those utilising the scheme. Upcoming workshops in March will delve into the feedback received, exploring avenues for enhancements based on your experiences and suggestions.
